Tip of the Week – History Interactives

(Tell your kids they’re video games.)

You and I know this. Your students already know this. But it probably sounds better to administrators and parents if we call them History Interactives.

The people over at Annenberg Media have put together a whole series of simulations, games and virtual hands-on activities in a variety of content areas. Obviously our focus is on the social studies stuff but you can also find math, science, language and the arts goodies.

Some of the four social studies activities are more interactive than others but all have great info and can be completed alone or in groups. Several have handy teacher workshops attached that add value.

Annenberg Media also has some excellent, free teaching resources and materials. It’s a great place to spend a couple or three hours honing your craft!

Have fun!
